The height of the raised face and the diameter of the sealing area depend on the pressure rating (PN), with higher pressure ratings requiring higher raised faces. For instance, flanges with a PN100 rating typically have a raised face height of about 7 mm. Properly defined dimensions and surface finishes (usually between 3.2 μm to 6.3 μm Ra) ensure effective sealing and prevent leaks in a variety of industrial applications.
